World Vision + Against Malaria Foundation = 3 million nets

When it comes to defeating malaria, strong partnerships can make all the difference. This killer simply cannot be defeated alone.

That’s why World Vision has teamed up with the Against Malaria Foundation (AMF) to launch Operation Safety Net, a program aimed at generating 3 million nets.  This partnership has the potential to protect 6 million people from malaria in the four countries targeted by the program:  Zambia, Kenya, Mozambique and Mali.

You can contribute to Operation Safety Net today.

Unlike traditional initiatives, Operation Safety Net will focus efforts on the large-scale distribution of long-lasting insecticidal nets to all members of a community, not only those most vulnerable to the disease such as children under 5 and pregnant women.  This new method of universal coverage has proven to be highly effective in reducing child deaths.  Relying on established local networks in countries where World Vision has programs, Operation Safety Net will ensure the nets are delivered at the household level, increasing the likelihood of proper net use.

Traditionally, offers to purchase one bed net cost $10, but thanks to this partnership, World Vision is able to provide a long-lasting insecticidal net and essential training on malaria for only $6.  Preventing malaria is not overly complicated, but it requires each of us doing our part to bring an end to this leading killer of children worldwide.

You can join us in this critical effort to save millions of lives.
